What Is Taqwa?

Answer:

Allah says in the Quran: “It is not Taqwa that you turn your faces toward East or West, but it is Taqwa to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book and the Messengers, to spend of your substance out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts you have made; to be firm and patient, in pain and adversity. Those are the truthful and those are the muttaqun.” [Quran 2:177]

Taqwa means to abstain from doing anything that would bring about the Wrath and Displeasure of the Lord All-Mighty; Taqwa is often translated as 'piety' or 'God-fearing', but a better equivalent would be 'God-consciousness'. Taqwa is the shunning of everything and anything that causes a deficiency in one’s relationship with Allah. It is the idea that a believer is always on guard and is perpetually alert of not committing any action that would earn the displeasure of the Almighty.

Narrated byAbuHurayrah The Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said, “The most common thing which leads people to Paradise is Taqwa of Allah and good conduct, and the most common thing which leads people to the Hell Fire is the mouth and the private parts.” Tirmidhi[Hadith 627]

Taqwa is to determine before doing anything whether the Allah will be pleased or Dis-pleased with the deed; if one determines that the Allah will be pleased with the deed, he must do it wholeheartedly; and if one determines that the deed would bring about the displeasure and Wrath of Allah, he must immediately abstain from it. And Allah alone knows the best.

Does touching private parts invalidate(break) wudu(ablution)?

Answer:

All the scholars are unanimous in their opinion that the following acts invalidate one’s wudu or ablution:

1. Any release from one’s private parts (urine, sexual emission, wet dream release, menses blood for women, stool, wind, etc.)
2. Sexual emission.
3. Wet dreams.
4. Menses blood.
5. Stool (offering call of nature).
6. Releasing wind.
7. Deep sleep
8. Sexual intercourse.

Regarding the acts mentioned below, there are a difference of opinion amoung the scholars, whether these acts invalidate wudu or not.

1. The touching of one’s private parts.
2. The touching of women.
3. Constant bleeding of blood from any part of the body.
4. Vomiting.
5. The consuming of camel meat.
6. The washing of a deceased’s body.

Regarding the breaking of wudu by touching ones private parts, there is the difference of opinion among the scholars. Those scholars who say that the ablution (wudu) breaks by touching private parts, base their opinion on the below mentioned saying of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

Narrated Busrah daughter of Safwan: Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution. ABU-DAWOUD[Book 1 : Hadith 181]

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Salim ibn 'Abdullah said, "I was with Abdullah ibn Umar on a journey and after the sun had risen I saw him do wudu and then pray. So I said to him, 'This isn't a prayer that you normally do. 'He said, 'After I had done wudu for the subh prayer, I touched my genitals. Then I forgot to do wudu. So I did wudu again and repeated my prayer.' " MALIK MUWATTA [Book 2 : Hadith 2.16.65 ]

Yahya related from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Salim ibn Abdullah said, "I saw my father Abdullah ibn Umar, do ghusl and then do wudu. I said to him, 'Father, isn't ghusl enough for you?' He said, 'Of course, but sometimes I touch my penis, so I do wudu.' " MALIK MUWATTA[Book 2 : Hadith 2.16.64 ]

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that his father used to say, "If any of you touches his penis he has to do wudu." MALIK MUWATTA[Book 2 : Hadith 2.16.63]

Those scholars who say that wudu does not break by touching private parts base their opinion on the below mentioned saying of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), the fact is that the majority of the scholars support this opinion.

Narrated Talq: We came upon the Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him). A man came to him: he seemed to be a bedouin. He said: Prophet of Allah, what do you think about a man who touches his penis after performing ablution? He (peace_be_upon_him) replied: That is only a part of his body. ABU-DAWUD[Book 1 : Hadith 182]

The majority of scholars are also of opinion that the touching depends upon the intentions, if one touches his private parts with the intention of some sexual desire then the wudu breaks, but if some one accidentally, without any bad intention happens to touch his private part then he need not renew his wudu. And Allah knows the best

Can we sleep by keeping our legs towards the Qibla?

Answer:

There is absolutely no restriction in the Shariah which states that one cannot sit with their legs towards the direction of the Kaaba. If one in a normal sitting position faces his legs towards the Kaaba, without any intention of disrespect; there is absolutely no harm and no sin.

One may sleep in any direction one wishes, even if one’s feet if facing towards the Qibla; as there is absolutely no restriction prescribed against it in the Quran or the Sunnah. And Allah alone knows the best.

Working in BANK

Is it allowed for a Muslim to work in a bank ?

Answer

Allah says in the Quran: But those who devour ‘riba’ become like the one whom Shaitaan has bewitched and maddened by his touch. They have been condemned to this condition because they say, “Trade is just like ‘riba”, whereas Allah has made trade halaal and ‘riba’ haraam. Henceforth, if one abstains from taking ‘riba’ after receiving this admonition from his Lord, no legal action shall be taken against him regarding the ‘riba’ he had devoured before: his case shall ultimately go to Allah. But if one repeats the same crime even after this, he shall go to Hell, where he shall abide for ever! Allah deprives ‘riba’ of all blessing but will give increase for deeds of charity, and Allah does not like an ungrateful, sinful person. QURAN [2:274-276]

From the above guidance of Allah, it is clear that a trade is not haram until & unless it does not deal with riba (or any thing prohibited by Allah & his messenger (pbuh)), & it is riba that is declared haram by Allah and his messenger (pbuh). You can analyze the severity of the sin & the anger of Allah against those who deal with riba in the below verse of quran.

Allah says in the Quran: O Believers!, fear Allah and give up that ‘riba’ which is still due to you, if you are true believers. But if you do not do so, then you are warned of the declaration of war against you by Allah and His Messenger! QURAN [2:278]

When Allah and His Messenger (saws) have declared something forbidden, then to derive any income from such an establishment would also be forbidden.

Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib Ali heard Allah's Messenger (saws) invoke the curse of Allah on those who took usury, those who paid it, those who recorded it, and those who refused to give sadaqah. Al-Tirmidhi [2829]

Regarding the working in the BANKS, it is forbidden for a believer to work in the banks as they are the organizations that deal with riba, Thus, if one is seeking employment, he should fear Allah, abstain from seeking work in a conventional bank whose primary business is in the dealing of interest.

However if any believer is already working in such organizations then it would be prudent for him to seek repentance of Allah, and search immediately for another job as per his talent; and when he finds an appropriate job, resign from the present interest-based bank job. And if one does this move purely for the sake of Allah, it is expected that the Bounteous of Lord will enrich him from His Infinite resources and give him a huge reward for his efforts to obey the commands of Allah and His Messenger (pbuh) And Allah alone knows the best.

Does prophet mohammad(pbuh) know what is happening on earth after his death?

Answer:

Our beloved prophet Mohammad (pbuh) does not know what is happening on the earth after his death, when a human dies & leaves this world , he enters in to the another world, after that there can be no communication between the dead person and a living person, our beloved prophet Mohammad(pbuh) was a human being. As Allah says in the Quran:

Say (O Prophet) : "I am but a ‘bashar’ (human) like yourselves (but) the inspiration has come to me: that your Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and in the worship of his Lord admit no one as partner." QURAN[18:110]

When the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) was alive, he did not possess the knowledge of the ‘unseen’, unless specifically told of the ‘unseen’ by Allah.

Narrated Masruq: 'Aisha said, "If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' (6.103) And if anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen the Unseen, he is a liar, for Allah says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah." SAHIH AL-BUKHARI[Book 93 :: Volume 9 :: Hadith 477]

Thus no one in this universe possesses the knowledge of the ‘unseen’ except Allah.

Narrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet said, "The keys of the unseen are five and none knows them but Allah: (1) None knows what is in the womb, but Allah: (2) None knows what will happen tomorrow, but Allah; (3) None knows when it will rain, but Allah; (4) None knows where he will die, but Allah (knows that); (5) and none knows when the Hour will be established, but Allah." SAHIH AL-BUKHARI[Book 93 : Volume 9 : Hadith 476]

So from the above guidance of Allah & his messenger (pbuh) it is only Allah in the whole universe who has knowledge of everything (seen & unseen) that exists. To believe that Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) has the power to be aware of everything that is happening on this earth after his death, is to raise him to the rank of Allah, and committing the heinous and unforgivable crime of ‘shirk’. So every believer should fear Allah and should abstain from such beliefs, in order to prosper in this world & in the world hereafter. And Allah alone knows the best.

RIBA (interest)

So Allah warns & declares war against those who deal with riba in any way, in what ever conditions. So you can yourself understand, if you are dealing with riba, you are in a war with Allah. You are in a war which you can never win. And Allah deprives ‘riba’ of all blessing.

Allah says in the Quran: That they took ‘riba’, although they were forbidden. And that they devoured men’s substance wrongfully. We have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment (of Hell Fire)! QURAN[4:161]

Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib Ali heard Allah's Messenger (saws) invoke the curse of Allah on those who took usury, those who paid it, those who recorded it, and those who refused to give sadaqah. Al-Tirmidhi [2829]

Henceforth, if one abstains from taking ‘riba’ after receiving this guidence from allah, no legal action shall be taken against him regarding the ‘riba’ he had devoured before: his case shall ultimately go to Allah. But if one repeats the same crime even after this, he shall go to Hell, where he shall abide for ever! So if one really believes in Allah & his messenger, should always abstain from, taking riba, giving riba, recording riba, attaching himself to business dealing with riba, in order to prosper in this world & in hereafter. And Allah alone knows the best.
