Is Tahiyat-ul-Masjid prayers(salat) forbidden during the times when it is forbidden to offer any salat?

Answer:

There are differences among the scholars concerning this matter. The correct opinion is that Tahiyat al-masjid is permitted at all times, even after Fajr and after ‘Asr, because of the general applicability of the this hadeeth.

Yahya related from Malik, from amir Ibn Abdullah Ibnaz- Zubayr, from Amr ibn Sulaymaz-zuraqi, from abu Qatadaal -Ansari that the messenger of allah(pboh) said, when ever you enter the masjid, you should pray two rakahs (Tahiyat-ul-Masjid) before you sit down [Al-Muwatta Hadith 9.60]

Here are some of the hadith which clearly show that it is forbidden to pray after fajir or asar.

Narrated 'Umar: "The Prophet forbade praying after the Fajr prayer till the sun rises and after the 'Asr prayer till the sun sets." Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 555 ]

Narrated Hisham's father: Ibn 'Umar said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'Do not pray at the time of sunrise and at the time of sunset.' " Ibn 'Umar said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'If the edge of the sun appears (above the horizon) delay the prayer till it becomes high, and if the edge of the sun disappears, delay the prayer till it sets (disappears completely).' " Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 557: ]

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle forbade two kinds of sales, two kinds of dresses, and two prayers. He forbade offering prayers after the Fajr prayer till the rising of the sun and after the 'Asr prayer till its setting. He also forbade "Ishtimal-Assama" and "al-Ihtiba" in one garment in such a way that one's private parts are exposed towards the sky. He also forbade the sales called "Munabadha" and "Mulamasa." " Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 558: ]

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "None of you should try to pray at sunrise or sunset." Sahih Al- Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 559: ]

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "There is no prayer after the morning prayer till the sun rises, and there is no prayer after the Asr prayer till the sun sets." Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 560: ]

Contrary to this, the Prophet (pbuh) used to pray two raka’ahs after asr prayer as related in many of the authentic traditions. However, it is important for us to note that whenever we perceive a difference between Qaul (command) and Amal (action) of the Prophet (pbuh), then according to the rule of fiqh, command takes precedence over the action

Narrated 'Aisha: By Allah, Who took away the Prophet. The Prophet never missed them (two Rakat) after the 'Asr prayer till he met Allah and he did not meet Allah till it became heavy for him to pray while standing so he used to offer most of the prayers while sitting. (She meant the two Rakat after Asr) He used to pray them in the house and never prayed them in the mosque lest it might be hard for his followers and he loved what was easy for them . Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 564: ]

Narrated Hisham's father: 'Aisha (addressing me) said, "O son of my sister! The Prophet never missed two prostrations (i.e. Rakat) after the 'Asr prayer in my house." Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 565: ]

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Apostle never missed two Rakat before the Fajr prayer and after the Asr prayer openly and secretly. Sahih Al-Bukhari[ Volume 1, Book 10, Number 566: ]

Narrated 'Aisha: Whenever the Prophet come to me after the 'Asr prayer, he always prayed two Rakat. Sahih Al-Bukhari [Volume 1, Book 10, Number 567: ]

Thus under normal circumstances, a Muslim should not offer Salaah after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises or after the asr prayer until the sun sets, unless there is a valid reason and requirement. As for prayers for which there is a reason, such as “greeting the mosque” (tahiyyat al-masjid) or the two rakahs after wudoo or the two rakahs after tawaaf and so on, they may be offered at any time. But the obligatory prayers can not be offered during forbidden times. And ALLAH Knows The Best

The sin of Zina(illegal sexual intercourse)?

Question:

Asalam Malakum i would like to ask ; what are the sins for doing zinah(illegal sexual intercourse), and wat might we have to face if one does this. And if one has even doen this how can he get clean from this?

Answer:

Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Israa:

Do not even go near ‘zina’ (fornication or adultery) for it is a very indecent thing and a very evil way![17:32]

Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Noor:

The woman and the man guilty of ‘zina’ (fornication), flog each one of them with a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them restrain you in regard to a matter prescribed by Allah; if indeed you believe in Allah and the Last Day! And let a section of the believers witness the punishment inflicted on them.[24:2]

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle while he was in the mosque, and he called him, saying, "O Allah's Apostle! I have committed illegal sexual intercourse.'" The Prophet turned his face to the other side, but that man repeated his statement four times, and after he bore witness against himself four times, the Prophet called him, saying, "Are you mad?" The man said, "No." The Prophet said, "Are you married?" The man said, "Yes." Then the Prophet said, 'Take him away and stone him to death." Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: I was among the ones who participated in stoning him and we stoned him at the Musalla. When the stones troubled him, he fled, but we over took him at Al-Harra and stoned him to death Sahih al-bukhari[Volume 8, Book 82, Number 806]

Zina (fornication and adultery) are considered amongst the gravest sins in Islam. One can imagine the severity of the sin, by the punishment Allah and His Messenger (saws) have decreed for the sin. If one is living in an Islamic State and gets convicted of the sin of zina (adultery), the punishment prescribed by Allah and His Messenger (saws) is that he/she should be stoned to death!! And if the person dies without making Taubah or asking repentance from Allah Subhanah in the life of this world, the punishment of the Hereafter in the Just Court of Allah Subhanah is even more severe than the punishment of the world!!

Zina is considered such an evil and such a grave sin that Allah has advised the believers in the Holy Quran [17:32..] ‘Do not even go near ‘zina’….’. We are commanded by Allah not to even go near zina, if indeed we fear Allah and the Last Day!!!

How to get clean from this sin?

It is the Mercy and Grace of our Merciful Lord that He has kept the door of Taubah and repentance open for those who have sinned. Allah Subhanah forgives all sins, provided one turns to him in sincere Taubah before his appointment of death approaches him; feels ashamed and sorry for the act he has committed; makes a solemn pact with Allah Subhanah that he would not turn to the road of sin again; and does righteous good deeds in accordance with the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah. For such people, Allah has promised His Mercy and Forgiveness. For the ones who do sincere Taubah, Allah removes and forgives all sins.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Zumur:

(O Prophet) say: “O My servants who have wronged their own souls….Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy! Surely, Allah forgives all sins. He indeed is the All Forgiving, All Merciful. Return to your Lord and submit to Him before the scourge overtakes you; for then you may get no help from anywhere.”[39:53-54]

Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Ale Imraan:

Allah likes such good people very much, who, if ever they commit a base deed or wrong their own soul by the commission of a sin, remember Allah instantly, and ask for forgiveness from Him for their shortcomings. For who, but Allah, can forgive sins? (And Allah loves those) who do not knowingly persist in the wrongs they did. These will be rewarded with forgiveness from Allah, and with Gardens beneath which canals flow, and they will reside therein forever! How excellent is the reward of those who do good deeds![3:135-136]

Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Furqaan:

The (true) servants of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth. When the ignorant people behave insolently towards them, they say, “Peace to you”; (And those) who pass their nights in prostrating themselves and standing before their Lord and pray, “O our Lord, save us from the torment of Hell, for its torment is killing! It is an evil abode, and an evil resting place”. (And those) who, when they spend are neither extravagant, nor miserly, but keep the golden mean between the two extremes. (And those) who do not invoke any god but Allah Alone, nor kill a soul unjustly, which Allah has forbidden, nor commit ‘zina’ (fornication and adultery)… He who does this shall be punished for his sin, and his torment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall abide in a state of ignominy; EXCEPT THE ONE WHO MAY HAVE REPENTED (AFTER THOSE SINS), AND HAVE BELIEVED AND DONE RIGHTEOUS DEEDS. For then, Allah will change his evil deeds into good deeds, and He is very Forgiving and Merciful. In fact, one who repents and does righteous deeds, returns to Allah as one rightly should![25:63-71]

And Allah knows the best.

Are womens in MENSES allowed to pray(i,e offer salat)?

Answer:

In Islam the woman’s are not allowed to continue their prayers when they are in menses. the hadith below witness to this.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet said to me, "Give up the prayer when your menses begin and when it has finished, wash the blood off your body (take a bath) and start praying." SAHIH AL-BUKHARI [Volume 1, Book 6, Number 327]

Narrated Maimuna: (the wife of the Prophet) During my menses, I never prayed, but used to sit on the mat beside the mosque of Allah's Apostle. He used to offer the prayer on his sheet and in prostration some of his clothes used to touch me." SAHIH AL-BUKHARI [Volume 1, Book 6, Number 329]

Mu'adha reported: A woman asked 'A'isha: Should one amongst us complete prayers abandoned during the period of menses? 'A'isha said: Are you a Haruriya? When any one of us during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was in her menses (and abandoned prayer) she was not required to complete them. Is bathing obligatory(compulsory) for a woman after experiencing orgasm(climax of sexual excitement) in dream?

Answer:

when we study the sahih hadith we come to know that prophit mohammad(pboh) has made it obligatory(compulsory) for a woman to have bath when she experiences the orgasm in a dream, it is mentioned in the hadith below:

Anas b. Malik reported: Umm Sulaim who was the grandmother of Ishaq came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) in the presence of 'A'isha and said to him: Messenger of Allah, in case of woman sees what a man sees in dream and she experiences in dream what a man experiences (i. e. experiences orgasm)? Upon this 'A'isha remarked: O Umm Sulaim, you brought humiliation to women;may your right hand be covered with dust. He (the Holy Prophet) said to 'A'isha: Let your hand be covered with dust, and (addressing Umm Sulaim) said: Well, O Umm Sulaim, she should take a bath if she sees that (i. e. she experiences orgasm in dream).SAHIH MUSLIM [Chapter 6,Book 003, Number 607]

Anas b. Malik reported that Umm Sulaim narrated it that she asked the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) about a woman who sees in a dream what a man sees (sexual dream). The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon bi m) said: In case a woman sees that, she must take a bath. Umm Sulaim said: I was bashful on account of that and said: Does it happen? Upon this the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Yes (it does happen), otherwise how can (a child) resemble her? Man's discharge (i. e. sperm) is thick and white and the discharge of woman is thin and yellow; so the resemblance comes from the one whose genes prevail or dominate.SAHIH MUSLIM [Chapter 6,Book 003, Number 0608]

Anas b. Malik reported: A woman asked the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees in his dream (sexual dream). He (the Holy Prophet) said: If she experiences what a man experiences, she should take a bath.SAHIH MUSLIM [Chapter 6,Book 003, Number 0609]

Umm Salama reported: Umm Sulaim went to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Apostle of Allah, Allah is not ashamed of the truth. Is bathing necessary for a woman when she has a sexual dream? Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Yes, when she sees the liquid (vaginal secretion). Umm Salama said: Messenger of Allah, does a woman have sexual dream? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Let your hand be covered with dust, in what way does her child resemble her? SAHIH MUSLIM [Chapter 6,Book 003, Number 0610]

It is reported on the authority of 'A'isha that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and inquired: Should a woman wash herself when she sees a sexual dream and sees (the marks) of liquid? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. 'A'isha said to her: May your hand be covered with dust and injured. She narrated: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Leave her alone. In what way does the child resemble her but for the fact that when the genes contributed by woman prevail upon those of man, the child resembles the maternal family, and when the genes of man prevail upon those of woman the child resembles the paternal family.SAHIH MUSLIM [Chapter 6,Book 003, Number 0613]

Why are women not allowed in the mosque?

Answer:

1. There is not a single verse in the Qur’an, which prohibits ladies from entering mosques. There is not a single authen¬tic Hadith which I am aware of which states that the Prophet (pbuh) prevented or forbade women from going to mosques. There is only one Hadith, which perhaps could have been misunderstood to mean that women should not go to the mosque. That Hadith is as follows:

Abdullah Bin Mas’ud reported the Prophet (pbuh) as saying: It is more excellent for a woman to pray in her house than in her courtyard, and more excellent for her to pray in her private chamber than in her house. [Sunan Abu Dawood Vol.1 Chapter 204 Hadith No.570]

If you base your conclusion only on this single Hadith, then you may wrongly conclude that it is not advisable or preferable for women to go to the mosque. However, your conclusion cannot be based only on one Hadith neglecting or ignoring all the other Ahadith. The context of the Hadith is also very important. The Prophet (pbuh) said that if a person prays in the mosque he gets 27 times more blessings (Sawab). Some women argued that they had infants at home and other household work and therefore could not go to the mosque. Thus, the men would have a greater advantage than women for receiving such blessings. It is then that the Prophet (pbuh) said the above Hadith. Hence, the conclusion is that in situations where women have infants and household work, which too is an important duty that cannot be neglected, women would not be deprived of the sawaab (blessings) if they pray in their own homes.

2. There are several Ahadith which prove that both men and women used to go to the mosques during the life of the prophet (pbuh):

(i) The Prophet (pbuh) said, ‘Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from going to the mosque of Allah.’ [Sahih Muslim Vol.1 Chapter 177 Hadith No.886]

(ii) And husbands were specifically told by him, “If the wife of any one of you asks permission (to go to the mosque) do not forbid her.” (Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book of Salaah, Chapter 80, Hadith No. 832)

(iii) From the time the Prophet (pbuh) entered Madinah, after Hijra, till his demise, he never prevented women from entering the mosque.

(iv) During the time of the Prophet (pbuh), women not only went to the mosques for prayer but also for religious education and liter¬ary discussions as the mosque was the centre of community. Several Ahadith tell us that the Prophet (pbuh) addressed people in the mosque, and the audience consisted of both Muslim men and women. Women many a times asked questions to the Prophet (pbuh) in the mosque.

(v) During the Prophet’s (pbuh) time, mosques had separate entrances for ladies. Women filled the mosques from behind while men had sepa¬rate entrances and filled the mosques from the front. In between the two sections were children.

(vi) It is reported by Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Pbuh) said: “The best rows for men are the first rows, and the worst ones are the last. The best rows for women are the last ones, and the worst ones for them are the first.” [Sahih Muslim Vol.1 Chapter 175 Hadith No.881)

3. Islam permits women to pray in mosques. Ladies should have separate and equal facilities. Islam does not permit the inter¬mingling of sexes. Otherwise, there will be a similar scene in mosques like other places of worship where some people even come for ‘bird-watching’ and eve teasing.

4. In recent times, women are not allowed in mosques in a few countries especially in India and its neighbouring countries. Otherwise, in most of the other countries, women are allowed in mosques. Women are allowed in mosques in Saudi Arabia, in U.A.E; in Egypt, in U.S.A; in the U.K and in Singapore. Women are also allowed in the sacred mosques, Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah and in Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madinah. Allahamdulillah, the trend is now changing in India. We have several mosques in India and a few in Mumbai in which women come to pray in mosques (masaajid). LIKE US ON FACEBOOK
